Basicand translational research is where the future of pulmonology begins. In lung cancer, thesetypes of research open the door to new therapies and a deeper understanding ofthe disease. As Chair of the RUS Assembly for Basic and Translational Research,my goal is to further strengthen the collaboration between science and clinicalpractice—because only through this connection can we bring real and effectivechange to our patients.
