Dr. Sanja Hromiš is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Novi Sad, and the Head of the Clinic for Allergology, Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases and Respiratory Infections at the Institute for Pulmonary Diseases of Vojvodina in Sremska Kamenica. Specializing in pulmonology and allergology, she is dedicated to advancing the diagnosis and treatment of asthma. With over 22 years of experience, she actively participates in research and education in this field. Her work encompasses research focused on asthma, with a particular emphasis on severe asthma. As the national leader of the SHARP program for Serbia (Severe Heterogeneous Asthma Research Collaboration, Patient-centered), she advocates for a better quality of life for patients with severe asthma. In addition to her clinical and scientific work, she actively collaborates with the National Association of Patients with Severe Asthma of Serbia - "Together We Breathe Easier -Beat Your Severe Asthma!" providing support and education to patients, and helping to raise awareness about severe asthma. Dr. Hromiš is the President of the Allergology Section of the Medical Society of Vojvodina of the Serbian Medical Society (DLV SLD), a member of the European Respiratory Society (ERS), and the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI). Her scientific work has been published in numerous domestic and international journals. The focus of her work is on the development of guidelines and the education of physicians in the field of asthma, as well as on improving practice and better treatment outcomes for patients in Serbia. Her expertise contributes to the advancement of asthma diagnostics and therapy at the national and international level.
